Bishop Colin C. Powell, Sr. is a native of Manchester, Jamaica West Indies. He is the second of four children for Louise Coley and Colin Powell. His early years were spent with his grandparents who were devoted Christians, therefore church attendance and Sunday school were always an integral part of his life.

Bishop Powell gave his life to the Lord at the young age of sixteen and became a member of the Roxbury Church of God of Prophecy, where he served the Lord faithfully in various capacities, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader and Evangelism Director.

In 1983, the Leadership of the Church, seeing the call of God in his life, set him forth as an ordained Minister of the Gospel. In 1999 Bishop Powell was assigned to Pastor the Glenway Street Church of God of Prophecy where he currently serves as the Senior Pastor.

He has more than two decades of teaching, preaching and counseling, which has enabled him to reach many lives with love, humor, warmth, transparency and strength.

His ministry is dedicated to building God's Kingdom one family at a time. Bishop Powell is blessed to be married to and share the ministry with his lovely wife Jenefer Powell of over 40 years.

Together they are the proud parents of three children: Colin Jr., Kristen and Zachary and grandparents to eight amazing grandchildren. In 2014, Pastor Powell satisfied the course requirements for a Diploma in Urban Ministry at Gordon Conell Theological Seminary.

He later went on to further his studies, and in 2018 received a Master of Arts in Urban Ministry Leadership. Pastor Powell is also the proud recipient of a Black Achievers Award.

Bishop Colin Powel loves the Lord with his heart and soul, but most importantly he is determined to preach a life changing gospel. Matthew 5:14 states, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” He believes that we are that light in this present world.
